African Safari Cd Art

The children really enjoyed creating these.They were offered animal silhouettes, to trace over, through the CD cover. After completing this, they added a watercolour sunset background painted on card. This was placed inside the CD case, to sit behind the animal silhouettes.

Pebble Art

A range of different pebbles/stones, stickers, patterned paper and felt tips were offered to the children. They created their own mixed media pictures, using the resources offered. Amazing work!

Ice Cream Sundaes

It was a very hot day- so what better day to make… ice cream sundaes! We made this over two weeks as there was a lot of work to do! Week 1- we made paper mache balls, using foil rolled into balls and newspaper dipped in a glue/water mix. Week 2- We discussed ice cream flavours, to ensure we had everyone's favourite flavour. We mixed pastel coloured paint with glue, then dipped the paper mache balls in (covering them completely). Next we placed them in our cardboard ice cream boats, arranging various ice cream decorations ontop, to make them look perfect!

Leaf Insect Natural Art

After looking at pictures of the amazing ‘Leaf Insect’, we collected different size/shape leaves and made our own!

About Us

Hi I'm Jenni, a mother of 5 and childcare professional of over 12 years.

I currently work in a local primary school nursery, in Teddington.

At the beginning of lockdown in March 2020, the preschool I worked in closed temporarily. Children in schools were offered anternative provision, but many nurseries didn't offer this.

Myself and a colleague started a facebook page called 'Teenyminds'. In order to offer fun, educational activities to children and to help stay in touch with children and parents.

This helped the transition back into preschool, once things were open again.

Since then, I have moved on from the nursery scene and am working in a local primary school as a Year 1 TA. I had very little time to continue posting educational activites, so started to post #ARTMondays on social media and running an afterschool art club, instead.

I have always enjoyed planning and creating pieces of Art at home. I think Art is a great way for children to learn how to express themselves, build confidence and improve mental health.
